Barista Level 1 and Level 2 are tests administered by the Korea Coffee Barista Association.

To take Level 1, you must first pass Level 2 in order to take the exam.

Level 2 exams include a written test and a practical test.

Written: Introduction to coffee studies, coffee roasting and flavor evaluation, coffee extraction, etc.
Practical skills: preparation evaluation, espresso evaluation, service skill evaluation
Barista Level 2 is required to solve 50 multiple-choice questions in 60 minutes. Practical skills will be evaluated by the evaluator in the form of work for 5 minutes of preparation time and 10 minutes of demonstration time.

Both require a score of 60 or higher out of 100 to pass.

 

In order to pass the Level 1 exam, you must pass the Level 2 exam.

Evaluate the preparation posture and 4 cups of espresso and 4 cups of cappuccino in practical skills. A technical and sensory evaluation is conducted with 10 minutes of preparation and 10 minutes of demonstration.
